No two people groom alike.
Whatever works for them and their
dogs (makes them happy) is all that is
necessary.
Here is some information for your
consideration.
First:

I teach the dogs as puppies to lay
on their side, show side (left side)
is groomed first

we start with the feet
-
work the under side
-
ending with the show side, head and
ear fall
-
repeat on non show side (right side)
-
the nails must be clipped
-
the feet trimmed
If you have a wavy coat I recommend
ironing to make the coat straight
